My thoughts exactly. Thank you for writing it. The sheer absurdity of it all kind of scrambled my thoughts.
I mean, even if this *was* a mistake, a sign of "poor judgment" or technological ineptitude, if Toobin were, say, an ordinary business employee working remotely, never mind a Trans person, they would be fired on the spot. The double standard for fame no longer makes any sense.
I think a lot of the "give the guy a second chance / fire him now" discussion is moot, anyway. Like Anthony Wiener, no one will take him seriously anymore. And rightly so.
